The boxes we send out our products in are sourced locally and meet the MSc forest management standard.
The cloth that we wrap the pockets in to protect them on their way to you are made from bamboo fibres: they are compostable within 8 weeks. The dust bags for the Alpage range are made from brush cotton.
The packaging tape we use is a gummed tape because it is fully recyclable and biodegradable.
From the beginning of design, in all the production choices we make, and right down to the packaging: we made a simple promise that we will, with every decision, look for a sustainable solution.
Patina
Natural leather, as it ages, becomes more and more beautiful. Good quality untreated leather will scuff with use; it will react to raindrops and sunlight and change with the natural oils from your hands. As it does so, it ages, the colour tones deepen, and you have a darker 'lived in' look. This process creates what we refer to as a 'Patina' and is a hallmark of quality.
We believe in 'slow fashion' that is not just for one season. So we don't speed up the process of 'looking old' because it is a natural evolution that shouldn't be rushed. If you like natural products that just get better over time, then an Ibblotta product is the perfect companion.
Craftsmanship
We love the relationship between the artisan and their trusted tools. The understanding of the materials and the knowledge of what is possible.
We see the provenance at work in the atelier, the craftsperson today with a story for today. Yet looking over the shoulder of history, there is continuity of generations before them.
What they have in common is the willingness to apply skills and solve problems. The artisans who intersect ideas with materials, and rather than saying 'impossible', choose to say 'what if'.

Interior design
Could most of your bags go by the nickname of 'Tardis'? Once your keys or phone are mired in the depths, it can feel like a life time before you find them again. With the Alpage and the Bellecombe we worked from the inside out. From our first prototype, we continued to question what a truly useful interior would look like and continued to revise our design until we were happy.
The bags have compartments and pocket options to safely stow away a passport, phone and other small items. In addition, it has two zipped pockets and a magnetic closure for additional security. We know that a truly loved bag has to be useful as well as beautiful.
