Step by Step

A few years ago, I was interviewing someone about climate change and they said something that has stayed with me, ‘if we only think of the enormity of it all we will never change. What we need to do instead is to find a way of putting the planet into every decision we make, however small. This is the only recipe – we change what we can’.

At IBBLOTTA, we have made the decision to:

•    work in small batches, none of our products will go to landfill due to overstocking. 

•    only use leather as a by-product from the meat industry.

•    work with artisans in Europe, drawing on their expertise and traditions.

•   not to use plastic packaging.The cardboard and protection cloths are 100% sustainable and recyclable or compostable. Even the calling card has a secondary use as a bookmark. 

Organic growth is our conscious choice to live more slowly and be respectful. If we want to re-imagine the future it is about making small changes, decision by decision.
